Forest and Environmental Policy major, which incorporates forest management major and environmental policy major, focuses on the study and research on how to balance development and conservation for more sustainable development with limited resources and capacity. This major provides students with an opportunity to explore diverse environmental issues including deforestation and to pursue the solutions for these problems across different academic disciplines, based on fundamental understanding of the factors causing such problems. Students also study the importance of forest resources for sustainable development and learn about the preservation and utilization of forest resources as well as the restoration of damaged forest through which they understand and practice a new paradigm of forest management. We seek to cultivate experts with theoretical knowledge and practical competence who will lead the restoration and management of damaged forest in developing countries due to the expansion of grassland and farmland for livestock raising and for crop cultivation, respectively, by sharing the successful experience of Saemaul Undong and forest rehabilitation projects of Korea in 1970s.

According to the 'State of the World's Drinking Water' report (2020) by the World Health Organization (WHO), about 2 billion people, representing 26% of the global population, lack access to safe drinking water. The majority of these people, who reside in developing countries, are highly susceptible to disasters such as water pollution, floods, and drought.

Water resources management major focuses on the efficiency, equity, and sustainability of managing water resources, providing education on improving food security, energy efficiency, and responses to water-related disasters. This field also contributes to establishing networks and collaborations with Korean companies that have water resource-related technologies and expertise. This is done by formulating water resources development plans in developing countries, drawing upon Korea's historical and contemporary experiences.

The water resources management major provides a comprehensive curriculum encompassing areas like Integrated Water Resources Management, Water Quality and Ecosystems, and Water Disasters. With its flexible design, the curriculum fosters the development of problem-solving skills, allowing students to tackle issues of their own choosing.
